And so the challenge began today one woman and one spade yipee, things were going well so decided to map out a second patch and cover with newspaper , straw and material a kinda mulch will leave this patch for a bit and see if it helps break down some of the hard clumps. My delight today is the first patch here planted some willow cuttings from willows growing here and then to crown it a lonely little gerberra or something like that just to remind me how it will be looking in summer . Really enjoyed today love the out doors and looking forward to this challenge. check out my blogs if you ever want to see how it all progresses. happy happy day today.

What to do with this!

Any ideas?

Willow

There is some willow growing here on the site and today  I took a few cuttings and planted them here and there as this will help to get things moving  because willow seems to thrive in the land here  and it is also easy to obtain from what is here already.

I am going to read about coppicing as I have read that this method will be of benefit when  trying to increase the supply of willow for different projects , I have seen lots of lovely structures on the internet of growing willow structures so my aim is to try and create a willow arch if anyone has any suggestions on this  I would welcome them , all suggestions are indeed welcome as this is very much a trial and error  challenge for me at the moment and the more advise the better. The only way I can go at the moment is too keep clearing a little each day and find something to plant in each area cleared , lots more reading for me  and also lots of work to do . There are a few plants growing here that I had planted over the last few years but I really do not know too much about their upkeep, some roses, some tangled honeysuckle so any ideas on these and how to prune will also be welcome. I will post some of these photos in my next post titled ; What to do with these , and what is this? . also in a post called to coppice or not. Thanks for reading and welcome to my blog.
